The emerging field of property technology – or PropTech – has been announced as a new category in the 2019 KPMG Irish Independent Property Industry Excellence Awards.
In Ireland, PropTech is rapidly being used to tackle key challenges in the real estate market. The PropTech Innovation Award will recognise the individual, business, product or service that has driven innovation, embraced technology and whose activities are shaping the future of the industry.
Now in its fifth year, the 2019 KPMG Irish Independent Property Industry Excellence Awards Programme sets a benchmark for excellence and integrity in the Irish property sector.
Entries are now open for 10 categories spanning Community Benefit, Regional Excellence, Design Project of The Year, Commercial Agency, Property Investment Fund Manager, Excellence in Planning for both private and public sectors, Contractor Award, Energy Efficiency and a Facilities Management Project award.
Paul Muldoon of the Irish Independent said: “We are very pleased to introduce the PropTech Innovation Award which will highlight the huge impact that technology is playing for all property sector stakeholders.”
KPMG partner and head of real estate Jim Clery said: “Judges will seek projects that demonstrate measurable improvement, reflect innovation through approach or technology, appreciate needs of clients, contribute to local community and demonstrate strategic co-ordination.”
