Maeve was appointed as Chief Executive of the Property Services Regulatory Authority in August, 2015. As the Regulator of property services providers, she is committed to driving standards, professionalism and compliance in the sector and ensuring that proper consumer protections are in place. In the short time since her appointment she has modernised the licence renewal process for all licensees, through delivering an Online Licence Renewal project where all licence renewal applications and payments are completed online.
Maeve previously worked as Chief Inspector with the Private Security Authority (PSA) where she headed up its Enforcement Division. As Chief Inspector she developed and delivered an inspection model involving outsourced resources which increased standards, visibility and compliance across the sector.
In 2007 Maeve was assigned as Inspector with the Garda Inspectorate where she was involved in inspections relating to effective use of resources in the Garda Síochána. As lead inspector, she lead and managed a team reviewing the effectiveness of the Fixed Charge Penalty System which resulted in all of the recommendations of the report, accepted by Government.
A significant part of Maeve’s career has been with the Department of Justice and Equality where she worked in both policy and administrative divisions, holding senior managerial positions including, Private Secretary and FOI Officer for the Department. Maeve gained a wide level of experience across the main divisions of the Department including the Law Division area Prisons, Garda and Security areas of the Department.
Maeve remains committed her own self development and recently received a first class Masters Degree in Criminal Justice and was awarded the overall Whitaker School of Government Prize for first place in the Criminal Justice Programme.
